It’s been a long road

We parted ways a long time ago

Many steps counted

Some taken with certainty

And purpose

Others less so

Many stops made

Some to celebrate and rejoice

Others to just rest

And recover

Many travelers met

Some felt like gifts

Others a test

Each taught a lesson

To look closer at myself

I keep on walking

The path shows itself

I am keeping count

Of each step

Each stumble

Each stride

Pray let me remember

And let my memory not fade

Let me not have hardened

Or have used up all my words

The joy

The pain

The elation

The longing
