Quietly

The quiet slow throb

Of a resting butterfly wings

As if in rhythm

With a heart that sings

The silent rise and fall

Of the ocean’s tide

Matching the moods of the moon

To seek or to hide

The silent slow descent

Of a leaf from the tree

Carried by the wind

To rest in eternity

The quiet settling

Of a snowflake on the ground

To melt into the earth

As if lost love found

The silent glow

Of the coal smouldering bright

Heading towards ashes

Knowing what is right

The silent eternity

Before the next breath in

Carries the wisdom of all time

All within

Make me that silence

Reverent and free

A simple quiet pause

Let me just be

Always wondering....
